"Clear Talk"

Hey guys! Just wanted to use the opportunity of writing this particular blog about some of the materials I use as an artist.

All my glass material is purchased in form of rods and tubes, sometimes large chunks. Reasons behind this are that there are a few ingredients that go into mixing borosilicate glass and slightly different equipment is required (such as a top load kiln for melting glass in a crucible...)

This blog is all about clear. As a flame worker that produces accessories for cannabis consumption clear glass material used for scientific work is most desired, this is because it is usually higher quality slightly better quality starting ingredients... I only exclusively use a type of clear borosilicate glass called "simex". This glass is most desired by scientific glass blowers due to its higher quality. Even as I have used it over the years I have seen a noticeably higher quality compared to "schott" clear glass that I have tried once before. Chinese is even lower grade/quality hence why I only use simex.
